Price Increase 2024

By Michael Roggenbuck

Hey folks,

We made it 2 years since the last time we needed to do this, but we unfortunately need to raise our prices once again.

As the notices from our suppliers about increased rates have been piling up, we knew we would eventually need to follow suit, but we tried to hold out as long as possible.  However, that time is finally here.  The goal of Precision is simply to break even with our finances, but with the current rates from our suppliers, we won’t be able to accomplish that, even with being busier than ever!  We’d very much like to continue to serve our local community and rescue partners, which means we’ll need to keep pace with everyone around us and increase our rates a bit.

So What’s the Damage?

Pretty much everything will be going up 3-10% or so. Here are the details for the most common services that we provide:

  • Cat spay and neuter procedures will now be $80.
  • Dog spay and neuter procedures will now start at $260, with the same $75 discount for dogs acquired through a 501c3 pet rescue, shelter, or humane society. Those who support our mission by adopting animals from rescue will receive the discounted rate of $185.
  • Our reference lab partner continues to increase rates as well, so most lab work will increase by about $5 to keep up.
  • Routine wellness exams will now be $50, and exams for medical concerns will be $70.
  • Dental procedures will now range from $275 – $850
  • No change to vaccine prices! Vaccines are the one product where our prices have not gone up, so we can continue to offer those at the current prices:
    • Rabies, DHPP, and FVRCP: $15
    • Bordetella: $20
    • Leptospirosis: $20
    • Lyme: $35

When Does this Happen?

New prices will go into effect on Monday, 9/16.  That means if you’ve already signed up for our services, you will receive the price at the time you scheduled. That’s what you expected when scheduled, so that’s the price you will get. Anything that is scheduled on or after Monday, 9/16 will incur the new charges.

As always, if any of this puts care for your pet outside of your abilities, please reach out to us. Our Spay-It-Forward fund has a bit more money in it now than in the past couple of years; we can occasionally do a little bit to help out folks with financial difficulties.

I’m sorry, posts like this are just about my least favorite part of the job, and unfortunately it’s likely to be an annual or bi-annual event as everything we need to run the place continues to get more expensive.

Until next time,

-Michael
