Introducing Dr. Travis Kriescher!
Hello Everyone!
On the heels of the less-fun price increase post, we come to you this time with good news!
We will be adding another surgeon to our team at the start of the new year! Meet Dr. Travis Kriescher:
Travis grew up in southeastern Wisconsin and graduated from UW School of Veterinary Medicine in 2022. During veterinary school he worked for the UW Shelter Medicine Program and attended their Maddie’s Shelter Fellowship. He completed surgical training in high-volume high-quality spay/neuter with the ASPCA Spay/Neuter Alliance and under our medical director, Dr. Meghan.
Since graduating veterinary school, Travis has worked in general practice and a shelter performing general wellness, spay/neuter, and dental services. He completed orthopedic training through Securos Surgical continuing education to perform extracapsular and medial patellar luxation repairs. His passion is offering affordable medical services while maintaining a high standard of medicine.
Outside of work Travis enjoys seeing musicals, playing video games, and watching his two orange boys (Wesley and Fezzik) pass the brain cell back and forth.
The biggest effects on our schedule from this addition will be the following:
- Availability for orthopedic procedures!
- Ortho procedures have always something that we have been unable to offer, but Dr. Travis is experienced in that field, so if you have any animals in need of an orthopedic procedure, please reach out and let us know – we should have good availability to start as we build up his schedule. He can do the following procedures:
- Femoral head ostectomy
- Extracapsular repair for cranial cruciate ligaments + arthrotomy.
- Ortho procedures have always something that we have been unable to offer, but Dr. Travis is experienced in that field, so if you have any animals in need of an orthopedic procedure, please reach out and let us know – we should have good availability to start as we build up his schedule. He can do the following procedures:
- Increased availability for dental procedures.
- Dr. Travis will eventually be doing dental procedures one day per week as well (exact timelines still to be determined), which means that our overall dental capacity is going to roughly double – please let us know if you have any animals in need of dental work!
- Increased capacity for spay/neuter.
- Again, the timeline is in flux, but eventually we will have one day per week where both Dr. Meghan and Dr. Travis will both be doing spay/neuter procedures, so the capacity that day will be increased from our usual maximum, meaning shorter wait times for everyone!
Until Next Time,
Michael Roggenbuck
