🥰So yesterday Thursday…I take 40 cats/kittens to Precision…
It was like a puzzle to get them all to fit..
I arrive and out come the crew of Precision employees
They are always smiling and cheerful when I arrive
They come out to start taking all these babies in..
I fill out the paperwork and then I am off for the day..
Later about 330 pm I arrive for pick up…
One of them comes out and says they are just finishing up feeding and putting all my kiddos back into their carriers after surgery
That in about 20 minutes we can start loading and they will finish up the paperwork.
They start bringing them all out..And I have 6 kiddos that aren’t fitting back into my tetris fit….so without even asking they unload some and start fitting them in a different way…it takes us 2 more tries but we do get them all back in..and comfortable for the long ride home…as we are about to close the back hatch one of them notices one of my little girls has totally soaked her tote pad…
She could have left it but without a word she says let me change her so she isn’t riding in that all the way home..She opens the door and does just that…so this baby can now lay down for the long ride and not be wet…
Paperwork comes out and it’s tons and again they are still smiling.
I love taking my littles here….

Excellent low cost vet clinic. I came with my foster kitty from community cat. The staff was friendly and excellent with my kitty. I might even start bringing my own cat here too. My only criticism is that the staff upfront mistook my medical device for my disability for a sound coming from the printer. They called it annoying and really embarrassed me. They should work on customer care.

Affordable vet care and caring people
I have been using Precision for many years. The staff is very knowledgeable and helpful. Working at a vet is not all sunshine and playing with kittens. It is working with very medically fragile animals. It is not all spays and dentals and not every procedure has a positive outcome. Everyone who works in this office feels it all- enjoying happy kitten snuggles, celebrating successes and making hard decisions with pet parents. I know there are vets that cry when I cry, and I am far from their only emotional pet parent. I could not imagine the emotional roller-coaster they experience daily. Yall are very very appreciated!
I won’t take my dog anywhere else. He was neutered a few days ago and the staff there was very friendly, knowledgeable, caring, compassionate and professional. Their after care is also fantastic. We thought we had an issue with our furry boy after surgery and emailed them a photo of the wound. They responded within minutes and helped us. It’s a great and comfortable atmosphere the moment you walk through the doors. Dr. Meghan and her staff is top class.

It dropped my kitten off in the morning and picked her up in the afternoon. It’s been almost 14 days since her surgery and she’s doing great. I couldn’t be happier. I did keep her locked up in the second bedroom for 10 days before allowing supervised play time out with the other cats.
Dr. Meghan is the best! Low cost surgeries are so needed in this area. Her suture sites are the best I’ve seen too!

Absolutely Outstanding! My cat, Pizza, got Bob Barkered here and I was blown away by how nice everyone was. Check-in was smooth and the doctor was professional and nice. You can tell “the Manager” is very passionate about animals. He is very kind and loving. Pizza says you guys totally delivered.

Precision veterinary took amazing care of my puppy during her spay! With awesome customer service! They even called me as soon as she was out of surgery. Easy check in and out. Great summary of all procedures throughout the day, and recovery instructions. Complementary ear cleaning and nail trim. Not to mention an amazing price compared to other clinics! She had nothing but a small rash from shaving post op. Which they were very responsive and helpful about when I emailed them. They even do internal sutures so there is basically no scar. Very happy with precision’s work!

Update almost a year later:
Took my new puppy and kitten there to get their spay and microchip. Once again the best vet experience! They took perfect care of my babies and they are both doing well 3 days later. They even checked my kitten for ear mites and offered to treat them if needed. Definitely worth the hour drive for us!

Dr. Remy and her staff are phenomenal. They are caring, knowledgeable and efficient. I was especially impressed by how quickly the front desk replied to my inquiries.

This clinic is so reasonable for their fees, I wish I lived closer to use their services regularly! They gave myself all the information I needed before & after care. Koda (Husky 1 yr old) had a hernia repair, spayed, microchipped, & shots for half the price it cost me to just neuter 2 males at a clinic near me. Low cost vet clinic, but still high quality. I’ve taken a few of my foster dogs there and have been very happy. They’re flexible with scheduling appointments and with drop-off / pick up times. Every staff member I’ve interacted with has been knowledgeable and friendly.

This is my first time ever leaving a negative review, and it has taken me well over an hour to write. With a demanding professional and home life, I rarely have the time or bandwidth to submit reviews at all, let alone a lengthy one. The fact that I am taking the time to write this now reflects how strongly I feel about what happened and how troubling the experience was for me and my family.
What makes this situation more disappointing is that our past experiences with Dr. Calhoun were genuinely positive. We trusted her with our pet’s care and had no reservations about returning for future visits. Because of that trust, the events that unfolded during our cat’s scheduled dental surgery were unexpected and upsetting. Unfortunately, one extremely negative encounter with a single staff member ultimately overshadowed all of the positive experiences we had prior.
On the morning of our cat’s surgery, we dropped him off at 8:15 am. He had been fasting since midnight in preparation for anesthesia, so he was already stressed and hungry. After being in their care for most of the day, I received a call from Dr. Remy informing me that they would not be performing the surgery. The reason had nothing to do with our cat’s health or any medical concern. Instead, they refused treatment because a family member had left a negative review about a previous visit. Rather than addressing the concerns or having a professional conversation, they chose to deny care while our cat was still in their custody, confined, hungry, and expecting treatment.
The issue revolved around a staff member whose name they repeatedly refused to disclose. She is a heavier-set woman with brown hair, which I mentioned strictly as a descriptor to identify who we were referring to. Later, I was told that describing her as “heavy-set” was disrespectful. I strongly disagree. It was a neutral, factual descriptor, no different than noting someone’s height, hair color, or age. The accusation felt like an attempt to redirect blame rather than acknowledge legitimate concerns.
I will openly acknowledge that I arrived late to the drop-off and had planned to apologize as soon as I interacted with the staff. Unfortunately, I was never given the opportunity. The moment she approached my car, her demeanor was abrupt, rushed, and dismissive. She handed me several lengthy consent forms and documents outlining anesthesia risks and other important information, and then returned in under two minutes to retrieve them. When I was still reading, she became visibly irritated. Wanting to keep the process moving, she asked to take our cat inside for the pre-op exam. I agreed, but what I witnessed next felt careless and unprofessional: she handled his crate in a way that bounced it repeatedly against her legs rather than holding it securely. For a tiny, anxious cat preparing for anesthesia, this was unsettling and unnecessary.
This was not the first concerning interaction with this same staff member. My family member previously encountered rushed communication and was incorrectly told that our cat’s surgery could not be scheduled until bloodwork was completed. After calling for clarification, we learned that this information was not accurate. When we expressed understandable frustration about being told conflicting things, we were accused of being disrespectful. It felt dismissive, very similar to what other reviewers have described as gaslighting.
In the end, although upsetting, I am ultimately relieved that the clinic refused service. It became clear that we were no longer a good fit for one another. We will gladly take our pets elsewhere. Somewhere they will be treated gently, with patience, empathy, and clear communication. If the clinic chooses to respond defensively, as they have with other negative reviews, that response will speak for itself.

First off, I am sorry that the drop-off felt rushed that morning. In complete candor, I am willing to believe that reception was in a bit of a hurry, as you were dropping off late – typically we need to make special exceptions to get that to work. The entire clinic switches gears at the end of the drop-off window and everybody has a very different set of tasks they need to focus on to ensure that the day keeps moving smoothly, so having to interrupt that and backpedal does add a lot of stress to their day, and we try to avoid it.
That said, dropping off your pet for surgery is a very big deal and should absolutely never feel rushed. If we’re accepting a patient late, then it’s on us to ensure that the owner still has time to address any questions or concerns and receives a full understanding of how the day will go. We will review our procedures for curbside interactions between staff, clients, and patients – we never want anyone to feel like the process is rushed or that employees are being dismissive.
Beyond that, you are somewhat oversimplifying the actual exchanges that you’ve had with us over the past couple of months. This was not the first instance of disrespectful behavior and while your verbiage in this review is professional, the presentation of events does somewhat sanitize your family’s actual approach to our interactions. Our decision to terminate the relationship was not solely due to a negative review raising concerns, but rather a pattern of behavior.
There are ways to bring up concerns, but attacking staff members is not one of them, and it is not behavior that we tolerate. The relationship between client and clinic is based on mutual trust and respect – your reaction to a minor scheduling mishap, and the review and subsequent conversation that day clearly indicated a lack of both. At that point, we no longer felt comfortable offering any further services.

I took my 2 cats for their annual shots, teeth cleaning and one fang extraction. One of the most affordable places that we found, plus, the staff is very professional, organized and friendly. They don’t try to charge you more than needed, they do email follow ups on the cats and solved all our questions. It has been over one month after the surgery and I can confirm: they did an amazing job!
The staff are some amazing people. Our kitten was spayed Friday and we had to email them about somethings over the weekend and they responded very quickly. They even emailed me just to check on our kitten. I have already recommended them to family and friends. I can’t thank them enough for the care and compassion they have showed our kitten and us.

The whole team at Precision is delightful! The services they provide are so incredibly important to the rescue I work with and to the greater Madison community. Further, the manner in which they provide their services makes it possible for small rescues (and rescuers) to do more with less resources.

Wow! I was so impressed with Dr. Meghan as well as the support staff at Precision when I took my Hugo in to be neutered! Everything ran super smoothly and my little man is doing great! Extremely affordable as well, though I would have been willing to pay more just for the sheer quality of service that my pup and I experienced. Highly recommend!
I’ve been a licensed wildlife rehabilitator for 23 years and am the founder of the area nonprofit, Wisconsin WildCare. Over the years, I’ve have worked with many different veterinarians/clinics and recognize a good one right away: good communication, super easy to schedule, very affordable fees, and staff that clearly care about every patient.
We have a feral cat colony on our small farm just north of Madison (they just show up out here 🙁 ). We trap and spay/neuter them. If they have kittens, we socialize them and place them in good homes.
You simply cannot schedule the capture of a feral cat. Precision always has gotten these cats in next-day. They’ve been understanding when we need to cancel last minute because we couldn’t get a cat into a carrier, or any other reason.

Dr. Remy, Michael, Elizabeth, and their entire staff are all so wonderful to work with, extremely responsive to emails, reassuring, and always so helpful. Precision Vet is worth the drive every time! Dr. Meghan is so knowledgeable in shelter medicine. She has treated numerous foster dogs and my resident dog. The office staff are always friendly and prompt.

We took our cat Toothless here to be neutered, receive rabies and general vaccinations and to be micro chipped. I can’t say enough how pleased I am with not only the service but the caring nature of the staff as well. They took excellent care of our kitty. I had no prior experience with this clinic, but would HIGHLY RECOMMEND it to anyone that needs to have their cat spayed or neutered. We took our 4 1/2 year old golden retriever, Nugget, in for neutering in early October, 2019. EVERYTHING about the whole process was professional; the staff was so wonderful and caring (they even offered us coffee….at 7am we really appreciated that). They have a separate entrance where you bring your dog into the clinic which is such a plus! The veterinarian explained everything she was going to do in great detail and re-assured us that our little Nugget (94 pounds) was going to be fine. And he was! We followed the doctor’s orders regarding post-surgery care and he healed up great! If you are reading this post, please do not hesitate to take your beloved pet there.

I take both my cats here and have always received great care. The staff are friendly and kind.
They went above and beyond to figure out why my what appeared to be healthy 18 month old cat died 3 days after being fixed. Without us even asking, they contacted specialists. The drs were as upset as we were. Our other cats are doing fantastic after surgery. They also have been wonderful with our 15 year old pug that has been having breathing issues. The amount of care and passion they have for the animals as well as the fur parents is wonderful.

This clinic and staff are amazing. I was able to get a new pet in fairly quickly and the pricing was extremely reasonable. Their efficiency and how they operate the clinic is SMART and allows for them to see more clients than some traditional veterinary clinics. They also do SO MUCH for rescues. I’m sure their job isn’t easy, but we’re blessed to have them available.

I needed a good place that could help my baby feel better the vet was very nice and helpful explaining what I needed to do for care and not over charging like others vets are around town. They did specifically say they are not a full service vet bit if you need a good doctor to check up on your babies and getting vaccines please use this vet I will be using them for all my babies from now on.

I will never take my fur babies anywhere else. The second I walked through the door I felt welcome. Everything explained was thorough and all questions answered. I have never been anywhere where a love for animals shines as bright as it does here.
Knowledgeable-Kind -Compassionate and super easy to work with. The staff is amazing and they truly care so much for every animal they see. I recently learned they play cat specific music in their recovery ward which is incredible! They care & work closely with area rescues and in my opinion go above and beyond. I take all my foster kittens to Precision.
Drove 2 hours each way to bring our dog and two cats to be spayed, and it was more than worth it. The staff are exceptional. Their communication was excellent, calling to let us know that the pre-op exam revealed that one cat had a heart murmur. Dr. Megan explained the risks and options over the phone before proceeding with the surgery. During surgery they also noted that the cat had a tapeworm, and offered a medication for $5.00 more. Over all , the entire staff is very professional and the cost was better than just reasonable. We had two cats and a dog spayed plus a few vaccine updates and a heartworm test . The cost was less than any of our local vets wanted for just spaying our dog. I highly recommend them! They would be our primary vet if we didn’t live two hours away.

I have nothing but positive things to say about my experience with Precision. I took my young pug puppy in for spay surgery and repair of an umbilical hernia. She did awesome with recovering and healing. Unlike prior experiences I have had with animals at other facilities, she was comfortable and pain-free. She was sleepy when I picked her up but other than that you would not know she had had a major surgery. The staff was very friendly and patient with my questions. Their prices are extremely reasonable. I will definitely bring my furry family members here again.

I adopted a dog from a shelter in Wisconsin, and they used Precision Veterinary for all of his shots. As I’ve gotten my dog settled in Chicago, I’ve had to call their office for various copies of records and their team is always so kind and helpful. Anything I need, they send over via email by the end of the day. They’re a really wonderful team, and I’m grateful they took care of my pup before I got him!

We sent our two kittens down with a local animal shelter to be fixed and get their rabies vaccinations. That is all I expected. They came home with two days worth of post-op meds, e-collars, a rabies certificate and tag, AND a four-page after visit summary detailing everything from start to finish. In addition to the expected services, they trimmed their claws and cleaned their ears. They even noted an upper respiratory infection in one of the kittens and provided a two-week supply of antibiotics at not additional cost with instructions to call with any concerns. Just amazing services. Unbelievable.

We had our two cats neutered here. We originally got a quote from a different vet for $300/cat to neuter. At Precision Veterinary, we only paid $60/cat, and we were able to get an appointment just two days in advance. The appointment was easy to set up online, and you could additionally specify shots (such as rabies and FRCP) for $10/each (other vet was $25/each). Cats were dropped off 7:30-8:00 AM and picked up 5:00-6:00 PM. Megan discussed the procedure, possible complications, and post-operative care during drop off. Very pleased with the experience and the cats are doing great!

Going in I was still nervous, but after leaving I felt I made the right choice and felt comfortable leaving my baby in their care, They answered all my questions and kept me updated after the procedure. Sophie did great and is recovering nicely! I highly recommend and will use them again in our future

I have experience with Precision Vet with a personal pet and also as a foster for Misfits rescue. My personal pet, Pugsley, needed an amputation due to a severe leg deformity. We had already spent thousands trying to help him. Precision was recommended for his amputation. They did not take the other doctors recommendation. Dr. Meghan reviewed his records and xrays before agreeing to do the procedure. This is the kind of vet you want doing surgery on your pet. Second as a foster I have many seen many incisions and animals that they have helped. Incisions are clean, small, and the animals are well cared for. These guys do great work for people who need a low cost option. Thanks for being here!

As our name implies, we take in a lot of hard medical cases and everyone on the Precision team is so kind, quick to jump to action to help us save lives and supportive. On the surgical side, Dr Meghan is simply amazing and goes out of her way to help us save lives, even fostering some of our extra peculiar misfits. Dr. Megan and George have put together a great clinic devoted to keeping the cost of spay and neuters affordable without skimping on the care of the animal. It is a well organized and well run clinic. They will always call you if they have any questions or concerns about your pet before doing surgery. I highly recommend them!

I have brought several cats to Precision for spay/neuter and exams. They received great care and I’ve found the staff to be extremely friendly and helpful and always willing to answer my questions. I’ve been able to speak to both the tech/nursing staff and vet as needed. I would definitely recommend them as a great and affordable option.

I’ve been taking my pets here for years and I’m so grateful that this clinic exists. All of my experiences here have been positive — spaying, dental work, routine vet care, and sick vet care. I’ve never seen such small spay incisions and my cats bounced back SO quickly! I always feel heard and never feel rushed. Took my cat (not super friendly at time) here to get fixed, microchipped and her vaccines. All of it came to 125$ this included medication for her. The staff was AMAZING, so kind. Took time to explain everything. Told me how she did throughout the day. 120% will be back with my other pets. Thanks for being amazing and affordable ❤️
