Add-On Services

The below list covers prices for some of the most commonly requested services we offer. If you don’t see something on here, please feel free to ask! In an effort to make it easy for most people to find things that are important to them, we don’t include everything possible on this list.

ServicePriceDescription
Rabies Vaccine
$15

A vaccine certified to protect dogs and cats for between 1-3 years depending on age and previous vaccination history. This is one of the two core vaccines for most pets.

Microchip
$30

A little chip about the size of a grain of rice that stores your personal information. If your pet runs away rescues will scan for this and contact you to return them.

DHPP Vaccine
$15

This is one of the two core vaccines for dogs; it protects against distemper, hepatitis, parvo, and parainfluenza.

FVRCP Vaccine
$15

Frequently referred to as ‘feline distemper’ this is one of the two core vaccines for cats.

E-Collar
$10

The ‘Cone of Shame’ that all pets hate. Strongly recommended for dogs, especially males, useful to have on hand for cats.

Flea & Tick Preventative
$20

Regular monthly preventative for fleas, ticks, mites, and other generally nasty parasites.

Heartworm Test
$30

A test for detecting heartworm disease. This test is strongly recommended at least once per year for all dogs over 7 months of age.

Heartworm Preventative
$15

Regular monthly preventatives for heartworm disease.

Fecal Test
$25

A test for detecting the presence of intestinal parasites. Please bring a stool sample with you to your pet’s appointment for this.

Bordetella Vaccine
$20

Useful for dogs who will be in contact with other dogs frequently. This protects against kennel cough.

Leptospirosis Vaccine
$20

Useful for dogs who will be roaming woodlands, farms or marshy areas frequently. The disease this vaccine protects against is found in rodent urine. Note: this vaccine tends to result in swelling and soreness around the injection site more commonly than others.

Ear Cleaning
$20/Free

A thorough cleaning for gunky, itchy ears. Ear cleanings are offered free of charge to surgical patients in recovery.

Nail Trim
$35/Free

A cursory blunting of the tiny daggers many pets use to show affection. Nail trims are offered free of charge to surgical patients in recovery. We aren’t always able to offer these depending on your pet’s feelings regarding the process. If you know they’re strongly opposed, you may have better luck at a groomer than with us!

Anal Gland Expression
$40

If your dog scoots their butt across the carpet, this is usually why.

Lyme Vaccine
$35

Useful for dogs who will be roaming woodlands, farms or marshy areas frequently. This vaccine protects against a disease transmitted by ticks, so keeping your pet up to date on flea and tick preventatives will dramatically reduce their chances of becoming infected as well.

Discretionary Procedures

These procedures are available to be added-on if deemed medically advisable by the veterinarian.

ServicePriceDescription
Umbilical Hernia Repair
$35

Occasionally the body wall doesn’t completely close up from the umbilical cord after birth. Usually, this just looks like a little bump on their abdomen, but can occasionally present significant health risks later in life.

Retained Deciduous Teeth Extraction
$35

If not all of your pet’s baby teeth fall out on their own, they can occasionally impair dental development as they get older. If they’re loose enough, we can extract them while they’re here for a spay/neuter.

Detached Dew Claw Removal
$40

If the dew claws aren’t structurally attached (basically just flopping around) we can remove them at the time of surgery. The vet can confirm whether or not this is an option during your pet’s pre-op exam if you’re interested.
